The annual New Good Neighbor Awards, now in their 55th year, salute firms that have, in the last two years, contributed to the economic value of their communities by constructing new buildings or investing in noteworthy improvement projects.
This year’s New Good Neighbor Award winners were selected by an independent panel from a cross section of state associations and organizations. Entries were judged based on their economic benefits, job creation, architectural merit, and community involvement. This year’s 12 award winners, including Telx’s NJR3 facility, comprise a total of $286.7 million in capital investments and 1,992 jobs in New Jersey.
As New Jersey Business notes in their description of Telx’s NJR3 data center for the New Good Neighbor Awards, the story of Telx’s Clifton Campus began with an ideal parcel of land at 100 Delawanna Avenue. Telx worked with Mountain Development Corp. to turn the site into a viable development, a net positive for the city of Clifton.
In the end, Telx emerged with a 215,000-square-foot building which retained existing jobs in the city and added new ones for a total of 50 full-time employees on-site. The new structure is earthquake-, hurricane-, and ballistics attack-resistant, and was designed to LEED standards. The $34-million facility has flourished since its completion.
The Telx team is honored to have NJR3 included in this year’s NJBIA New Good Neighbor Awards, and we look forward to a long-lasting relationship with the state of New Jersey and city of Clifton by way of our Clifton Campus.
